After a 25-year career in the hospitality business, George Stevenson spent nine years as a full-time parent, raising two small children. In late 2020, he came to Carthage as a part-time public safety officer to get himself out of the house and start a new, fun career. He loved working at Carthage and decided to come on full time as assistant director of Public Safety in Jan. 2023.
His philosophy on public safety comes from a customer service perspective, and he is constantly looking for better ways to serve members of the Carthage community while prioritizing safety.
