An alumnus of Carthage’s Adult Undergraduate Studies Program, Anthony Nudo has found a successful and fulfilling career in law as a partner of Guttormsen, Terry & Nudo, LLC. in Kenosha.
“As a lawyer, I represent clients in some of their most important matters - from evicting a tenant, to defending them in a leaky basement case,” he explained. “As a partner in a law firm, I am highly engaged with the day-to-day activities of running a small business.”
He thanks Carthage for the real-world experience and expert advice he received from faculty, and encourages current students to develop strong critical thinking skills in preparation for future jobs.
“The experience I had at Carthage is invaluable for the preparation of my career.”
What have you enjoyed most about your career?
“I enjoy being met with a new challenge each day. Every day is different in the field of law. The law is constantly changing, and so are the challenges. Each challenge is a hurdle that must be overcome. I enjoy being able to creatively utilize the law to help my clients.”
How did Carthage prepare you?
“I attended Carthage under its Adult Undergraduate Studies Program. The experience I had at Carthage is invaluable for the preparation of my career. There are rigors to being a lawyer - you need to help your clients, maintain your business, take care of your employees, and most importantly, take time for your family. Carthage helped me prepare for the real world because it gave me real-world experience with professors that have been there, and done that.”
Tips for current Carthage students:
“Carthage encourages critical thinking, and that’s for good reason. Critical thinking is what will get you to the next level in your career and in your life. When your professors encourage you to think critically, do it. It will prepare you for some of the toughest times in your life and make your experience at Carthage very enjoyable.”
