Devon Kuhn ’26 is a nursing major with a minor in Spanish. He was a recipient of the Highest Honors Scholarship, which gave him the ability to dedicate more time to his degree. He’s learned to take advantage of the many campus resources, such as the Office of Peer Tutoring and The Aspire Center, to help him succeed in class and prepare for his career.
Campus involvement
“I am involved in the Nursing Student Council and the men’s swim and dive team. Being a part of the Nursing Student Council has presented me with many opportunities to represent my cohort and help bridge the gap between students and faculty. Also, being on the swim team has allowed me to compete in a sport I enjoy, while simultaneously improving my time-management skills.”
Career goal
“I hope to pass the NCLEX and begin my career as a pediatric nurse.”
Favorite spot on campus
“My favorite spots on campus are the corner rooms in the David A. Straz Jr. Center that overlook the lake. This is where I get the most work done, for sure.”
What would your 8-year-old self think of you now?
“My 8-year-old self would be excited that I am studying a career with a heavy focus on problem-solving and science. Even at that age, I knew I wanted to do something that involved science. To be able to follow through and pursue an education that satisfies that desire is a surreal feeling.”
