“The opportunities at Carthage were endless — I was able to connect with so many professionals and companies, and ultimately learn what career path I wanted to take.”

What have you enjoyed most about your career?

“I have enjoyed seeing how much I am capable of. It can be really intimidating to start in corporate America fresh out of college, so learning with an amazing company and team has been very enjoyable, and I hope that this is only the start of my growth.”

How did Carthage prepare you?

“Excel certification is a must in the analyst world, and it definitely makes you stick out on paper. Mock interviews and sales call events will also help you hold professional conversations and become more confident in yourself.”

Why did you choose Carthage?

“My dad and his siblings attended Carthage. I always wanted to follow in my dad’s footsteps!”

What Carthage professors played a part in your success and how?

Professor J.J. Shields helped me with my sales skills and helped me build professional relationships. Professor Sandy Basiglia encouraged my freedom of thought. I also credit my post-college success to Professor Lisa Franklin.

“I think being able to have 1:1 mentors is very important in college, especially when you are confused on which career path to take. It’s nice to have real-life examples from the professors and have someone there to put you in contact with someone who might be able to help you get a job or internship.”

What role have the values in Carthage's mission, "Seeking Truth, Building Strength, Inspiring Service — Together" played in your life?

“It is important to know that many things in life are done with teamwork. Whether with work, family, or friends, you can always count on those around you to inspire and build you up.”

What's your favorite Carthage memory?

“The community Carthage offers will always be my favorite memory. Having been born and raised in Kenosha, I was nervous about Carthage not being a big enough leap for me, but it was definitely my home away from home, and I truly believe it has made me into a very well-rounded individual.”

Tips for current Carthage students?

“Be very open-minded when choosing a career path. Even if you know you want to go into business, be open to all the different opportunities that come with that. I stumbled upon product management and operations/sourcing solely from applying to many different jobs. Thankfully, I loved it when I started working in the industry, but I would’ve never known had I been picky in the job application process.”
