Donna Klammer was hired at Carthage as Administrative Assistant to the Operations Management Department in August 2020. She was previously employed at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in the College of Health Sciences’ Nurse Anesthesia Department as an administrative assistant and clinical coordinator. She enjoyed working in academia, being a part of a newly-developed department, and watching it grow. Donna attended all of the class graduations and was very touched to have the first graduating class present her with honor cords, and she still keeps in touch with some of the graduates to this day.
Donna was previously employed at Abbott Laboratories in the Neuroscience Marketing and Occupational Health Services and Environmental Health and Safety Training Departments. She was also employed at a clinical research organization (CRO) as a clinical research coordinator where she was instrumental in gathering study data for pharmaceutical companies and assisting with the analysis of that data for drugs to be approved by the FDA. She was employed at the CRO during 9/11 and one of the drugs being tested was actually sent to help first responders who had suffered from acute lung injury.
Donna’s first career experience was working in banking where she became manager of the consumer loan department and the bank’s compliance officer.
She has enjoyed working in a variety of environments and has always taken pride in providing the best customer service to internal, as well as external, customers.
She is very pleased to have been chosen to now work at Carthage College and bring her skills and knowledge to the Operations Department.

Favorite thing about working at Carthage
“I am enjoying the friendly team-work oriented work environment and the beautiful campus grounds. I have seen some stunning sunrises over Lake Michigan on my way into the office.”
“My home is here in Kenosha where I live with my rescue cat, Oliver, who I adopted from Safe Harbor. I am passionate about animal rescue and making ‘adoption the option’ for pets and also spaying and neutering. I have one son who lives in Beach Park, Illinois, and I enjoy it when we go on hiking and off-roading adventures. I love to read, watch documentaries, and love being out in nature.”
