Kira Muñoz
Kira Muñoz is the Area Coordinator for Denhart and Tarble residence halls. Kira originally hails from Racine, Wisconsin, and has also lived in Minnesota, Kentucky, and Texas.
She completed her undergraduate work at Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wis., and her graduate work at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn. During her time at St. Cloud State University, Kira studied abroad in South Africa. Kira is a first-generation college graduate, which plays a role in why she chose to work in student affairs.
Prior to launching her career into higher education, Kira worked for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and serving as an AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America in Texas, where Kira created a service-learning program for a junior college. Kira also has worked as an advocate for a women’s and family homeless shelter and as a Behavioral Therapist for children with autism.
Within higher education, Kira has worked as an advocate and bystander educator for a women’s center, a conference planner and advisor for multicultural student services, and an event planner for graduate student services. Kira has worked in residential life and housing positions since 2016.
Outside of work, Kira enjoys traveling; the arts; and spending time with her family, friends, and dog. She also enjoys crafting, reading, and board games. Kira’s favorite spot on campus is her backyard because it has such a great view of the lake and watching the sunrise over the lake is beautiful.
