What have you enjoyed most about your career?

“I enjoy the people and our team! I get to meet passionate industry professionals from small to large utilities every day.”

Why did you choose Carthage?

“I chose Carthage because of the small class sizes and community aspect. Carthage faculty made me feel like anything was possible. They supported me throughout my journey, and that is invaluable!”

What Carthage professors played a part in your success and how?

“All the Carthage professors have made an impact on me and the success I’ve had in my professional career. I would like to provide a special thank you to Professor Tracy Gartner, who saw my potential when I didn’t. Because of my professors, I achieved much more than anticipated, such as being a lab assistant, peer tutor, and president of Kappa Alpha Omicron.”

What's your favorite Carthage memory?

“My favorite memories include walking past the lake, studying at Starbucks, and being in the environmental science labs. I enjoyed decorating my room each year and having many nights out with friends.”

Tips for current Carthage students?

“It is okay if your dream job is not your first job! After Carthage, I worked in customer service for a municipality for about a year and a half. This was not my dream job; however, it taught me to communicate effectively, problem solve, and build relationships with people. After meeting coworkers, I quickly learned that everyone’s paths are different and that it is okay if my path was not one straight line, but rather one with many twists and turns.”
