- Assistant Professor of Computer Science
Professor Elizabeth Zak arrived at Carthage in 2024. After graduating in 2018 from Grinnell College — where she double majored in computer science and gender, women’s, and sexuality studies — Prof. Zak completed a master’s and doctorate in informatics at the University of Iowa. During her time at the university, Prof. Zak also interned at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, worked as a research assistant for the Center for Data to Health, and served as a writing fellow.

Professor Zak’s research focuses on information literacy and misinformation. She has also conducted research on “The Twilight Zone.”
