Linfeng Li received his B.A. in English at Central South University in China, and his M.A. in teaching Chinese as a second language at Hunan Normal University in China. He graduated with the award of Outstanding Postgraduate Student and Student Leader at Hunan Normal University in China. He received his second M.A. in education at Carthage College.
Prof. Li is the visiting assistant professor and the coordinator of the Chinese Program at Carthage. He joined the Carthage faculty as Target Language Expert and has been teaching Chinese language courses since 2019. Prior to this, he was a visiting assistant professor who taught elementary and advanced Chinese courses at Vassar College in New York from 2017 to 2019. He worked as a Chinese instructor and international students class coordinator at Changsha Medical University for two years. From 2013 to 2015, he taught Chinese and Culture as a volunteer teacher in a secondary school in Chiangmai, Thailand. He was awarded the Outstanding Chinese Volunteer Teacher in Thailand (by Hanban) Beijing, China.
Prof. Li is interested in linguistics and second language acquisition research, with a particular focus on the acquisition of verb-object phrases. His research on the Acquisition of Verb-Object Phrases was presented at the conference of the Chinese Language Teachers Association of Greater New York (CLTA-GNY) in May 2018.
