How have Carthage faculty had an impact on your life or Carthage career?
“One professor who has had an impact on my Carthage career is Professor Gregory Barron. With his new J-Term course, Introduction to Sports Management and Marketing, I am finally declaring my major as management and marketing. Once I discovered this class was available to freshmen, I knew I had to take the opportunity to start a career in something my life drives off of — sports.”
Favorite class
“My favorite class has been Western Heritage because I love being exposed to different literary works, including “The Holy Bible.” Professor John Leazer has been more than supportive with helping me understand difficult texts and comprehend the right message.”
Favorite moments and memories at Carthage
“Some of my favorite memories are of the football games. Tailgating with my family for homecoming and showing my family around campus is always a prideful experience for me. I also love making new friends by simply keeping my door open in my dorm.”
Favorite spot on campus
“My favorite spot on campus is the N. E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center because I love walking through and looking at student-athletes perfecting their sport and their position in the sport. Seeing the physical dedication of the athletes is inspiring.”
Biggest surprise so far
“The biggest surprise is how fast my first semester flew by.”
What would your 8-year-old self think of you now?
“My 8-year-old self would think I was crazy. Before I came to college, I always wanted to be a teacher, but I am glad I am declaring my major as management and marketing.”
Why should other students consider your major? What advice do you have for them?
“It is not an easy field to pursue, but working hard for it is so rewarding.”
Why Carthage?
“I chose Carthage because the small classes, the welcome feeling, the faculty, the academic buildings, the opportunities, and the beautiful views.”
