“I can know my professors both in a professional sense and also in a more intimate and private sense,” he said. “I know that if I’m having problems with comprehension my professors will be undoubtedly happy to help me after class, even outside of office hours.”
“President of the United States! But on the road to that, I would really like to start off working for the State Department in either foreign or domestic affairs.”

Favorite moments at Carthage
“I have to say my favorite moment is Christmas Fest! The atmosphere on campus is incredible, and seeing the combined talent of all four musical ensembles and choral groups is incredibly powerful to take part in and observe.”
Biggest surprise so far?
“The biggest surprise for me has probably been how much I start to miss home throughout the year. I had always been very independent so I didn’t think I would have too much trouble adjusting, and in reality, I haven’t. However, there are still some days where I long for home-cooked meals and the company of my dogs.”
What would your 8-year-old self think of you now?
“My 8-year-old self would probably be thinking, ‘What the heck! I thought we were gong to fly around the world and be a pilot.’”
Advice for other students considering your major
“Take the classes that most interest you, because reading about them for hours each night will be a real downer unless you can find some interest in the subject matter.”
