Omicron Delta Epsilon is an economics honors society, one of the world’s largest academic honor societies. The objectives of Omicron Delta Epsilon are recognition of scholastic attainment and the honoring of outstanding achievements in economics; the establishment of closer ties between students and faculty in economics within colleges and universities, and among colleges and universities; the publication of its official journal, The American Economist. We seek to increase understanding of economics among members and the student body.
We meet Thursdays at 11:35 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Clausen Center.
What are some of your org's major events and activities?
We host weekly meetings for members to discuss current events, economic phenomena, and other topics of interest in economics. We host documentaries as well as a yearly luncheon with professors.
Why should people join this organization?
International recognition of scholastic achievement in economics. A publication outlet for promising undergraduate and graduate student papers in The American Economist, the journal of Omicron Delta Epsilon, and closer academic and professional relationships with faculty and fellow students here at Carthage.
Who can join?
Economics majors / minors, International Political Economy students, and anyone with over 12 credits in economics with a GPA over 3.0.
