I write with important updates regarding Carthage’s response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the United States. I know many of you are closely watching news of the outbreak’s rapid spread and far-reaching impact on travel, public gatherings, sporting events, global business operations, and — this week, especially — higher education. -
February 22February 22, 2021 — In an ongoing effort to keep folks informed, the COVID-19 Coordinating Committee will post weekly updates. Read about population testing, the Semler Fitness Center, and vehicular traffic.

January 21Jan. 21, 2021 — Seminar classrooms have been reserved for students needing a space for remote learning.

January 12Jan. 12, 2021 — All students, faculty, and staff are expected to abide by our guidelines to hold safe in-person events on campus. See our full guidelines for hosting gatherings on campus.

December 10Dec. 10, 2020 — Students return to campus for spring semester on Monday, Jan. 11. Classes will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 12. Read more information about January arrival and move-in.

December 9Dec. 9, 2020 — New resources will allow us to test a much larger population in the spring term. Carthage has secured resources to do testing in accordance with new athletic regulations. Carthage has also recruited more contact tracers for the spring term. Read more.

November 30Nov. 30, 2020 — Carthage has altered the campus building hours for winter break from Monday, Nov. 30 through Sunday, Jan. 10. View campus building hours.

November 10Nov. 10, 2020 — To accommodate students who wish to leave campus prior to residence halls closing on Tuesday, Nov. 24, we will remove the traffic barricades that restrict access to Campus Drive between Lentz Hall and the TARC on Wednesday, Nov. 18. Read about the new traffic pattern.

November 9Nov. 9, 2020 — The state of Wisconsin is currently experiencing a dramatic rise in the number of positive COVID-19 cases, and the growth locally is significant. It is clear that we must take additional steps now to protect the health of our community, which is a foundational value.

September 1Aug. 31, 2020 — An email has been sent out informing students, faculty, and staff that a member of the Carthage community has tested positive for COVID-19. Safety measures are being taken and a dashboard has been created to list important monitoring variables. Read about the case update and on-going dashboard.

August 31Aug. 31, 2020 — In addition to community testing resources, the College plans to offer testing on campus for students. Testing will be reserved for students who are symptomatic or have been in close contact with a person who has tested positive. Read more about community and on-campus testing.

August 28August 28, 2020 — One of the most important ways to keep our community safe is to conduct symptom monitoring every day. All Carthage students and employees must self-monitor symptoms daily before leaving their residence hall rooms, coming to campus, or reporting to work. Learn about how to self-monitor for symptoms.

Carthage’s signature Study Tours provide students with transformational international experiences.
