Carthage has more than 120 student groups and organizations through which students can get involved, explore possible careers, meet other students, work closely with faculty advisors, and perform community service. The following clubs are popular with students majoring in Chinese. See a full list of Carthage student organizations.
Chinese Club meets every few weeks to enjoy Chinese culture, practice Chinese, and help each other with homework. Each year, club members visit Chicago’s Chinatown to enjoy authentic Chinese food and practice Chinese with natives. Chinese Club members also learn about pop culture in China, study ancient culture, and learn about holidays like Spring Festival and National Day. The club is currently exploring volunteer opportunities teaching Chinese to local second-graders.
