Carthage will celebrate the Class of 2023 during Commencement Weekend May 26-28, 2023.
At Carthage’s 2023 Commencement, graduates will cross the graduation stage with family members and guests present to cheer them on.
The Carthage Commencement Committee has reinvented Carthage graduation traditions and incorporated exciting new elements to create a unique graduation experience for the Class of 2023.

Friday, May 26
Commencement Ceremony & Celebration
7 p.m. Friday, May 26
A. F. Siebert Chapel
Carthage celebrates graduates who have completed their degrees. This graduate-focused ceremony is the conferring of degrees upon the graduating class. It occurs in front of the presidential procession, along with other graduates. Following the ceremony, graduates and their families and friends are invited to a reception in the Campbell Student Union. Each graduate will receive three Commencement Ceremony tickets (one for the graduate and two for guests). If space allows, additional tickets will be offered for the Commencement Ceremony.

Baccalaureate is an opportunity for graduates to pause and reflect in A. F. Siebert Chapel before the Commencement procession. It has been a long-standing tradition at Carthage to celebrate the blessings of earning a degree. This event is open to graduates and their families. No ticket is required. Commencement Processions
Saturday, May 27, and Sunday, May 28, times assigned to each graduate
Graduates will begin their procession at the south doors of the JAC (South Upper Lot)
The procession at Carthage is a unique take on the traditional ceremony. Graduates will process through several campus buildings with family and friends culminating in a walk across the stage to receive their diploma. Students are assigned a date and time that aligns with others in the same academic division. Each graduate will receive nine Commencement Procession tickets — one ticket for graduates and eight tickets for guests. Additional tickets are unavailable, and those without tickets will not be admitted.
