Carthage College will host a forum at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, for candidates seeking Wisconsin’s 1st District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
WHEN: 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
WHERE: A. F. Siebert Chapel
SEATING: All seating is general admission; no advance registration required.
All three candidates on the ballot are scheduled to participate:
- Randy Bryce (Democrat)
- Bryan Steil (Republican)
- Ken Yorgan (Independent)
The event will run from 7 to 8 p.m. in A. F. Siebert Chapel on the Carthage campus, 2001 Alford Park Drive. All seating is general admission, and no advance registration is required. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The Kenosha News, The Journal Times, the Lake Geneva Regional News, and Carthage are co-sponsoring the forum.
After an opening statement by each candidate, questions will be posed by the moderators: Kenosha News executive editor Bob Heisse and Carthage faculty members Katherine Hilson (sociology) and Jeffrey Roberg (political science).
The Nov. 6 general election will determine the successor to House Speaker Paul Ryan, who is stepping down at the end of the term. The 1st District includes all of Kenosha and Racine counties, as well as varying portions of Walworth, Rock, Waukesha, and Milwaukee counties.
