Meet the First Year Advisors

All freshmen at Carthage are assigned a First Year Advisor. First Year Advisors are responsible for each student’s academic advising needs, and are available for counseling in all areas of college life.

  • Carrie Espinosa

    Director of the Center for Student Success

    Carrie leads the daily operations of the Center for Student Success. She oversees program assessment, evaluation, and reporting for the Center, and co-manages the campus’s early alert system. Carrie also facilitates the transition of students to faculty advisors within their program(s) of study.

    Associate Director of the Center for Student Success

    Joseph advises transfer, exchange, and re-admitted students, teaches College Success Seminar, and co-manages the campus’s early alert system. Joseph also serves as the Center’s main contact for Guaranteed Admission Program participants pursuing full-time enrollment.

    Alejandro advises first-time freshmen who are pursuing a major within the Division of Natural and Social Sciences, teaches College Success Seminar, and co-coordinates the Carthage Academic Achievement Program and social media outreach for the Center.
