Welcome to Carthage!

New Student Arrival

We’re excited to welcome your student to campus for the 2021-22 academic year!

During New Student Arrival, families should enter campus at the north entrance (at the stoplight) and park in the north lots. Student check-in will be held in the A. W. Clausen Center for World Business. After checking in, residential students will drive south on Campus Drive where Public Safety will direct families to unloading spots. After unloading their vehicle, residential students and their families will need to move their cars to the South Lower Parking Lot, just west of the N. E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center (the TARC). Commuting students can leave their vehicles in the student parking sections of the north lots.

  • Residential students may only have two people assisting them with move-in to manage physical distancing within each time block and the buildings.
  • All students and visitors helping with Move-In, regardless of vaccination status, are required to wear masks inside campus buildings. View mask requirements
  • Please consider bringing a dolly, cart, or wagon to assist you in moving items in and out of the facilities. Carthage does not have these available.
  • Campus Drive will be open to one-way, southbound traffic one hour prior to the start of arrival and one hour after arrival ends. See campus map

Students will receive a printed schedule of arrival and orientation activities when they check in on campus. Students should review that schedule for more details about their first weekend on campus.

What to Bring

  • Your Student Identification Card. This ID will be required in order for you to start orientation. If you have misplaced your ID, don’t worry. We can make you a new one.
  • Your Virtual Check-In Sticker. Upon completion of online Check-In through the My.Carthage portal, you will receive a virtual check-in sticker that confirms you have completed all of the check-in requirements. Print/save this sticker and bring it to New Student Orientation for proof of completion.
  • Your COVID-19 Vaccination Verification Card. Prior to arriving on campus, we encourage all students to fill out their vaccination status form online. If you have not filled out your form online, please bring your COVID-19 vaccination verification card to campus upon arrival for our records. Carthage requires that all students confirm their vaccination status by Sept. 15. Learn more about vaccination requirements
  • Consider bringing a dolly, cart, or wagon to assist you in moving items in and out of the facilities. Carthage does not have these available.
