The Photography and Film and New Media Program at Carthage is a cross-departmental program through the Art and Communication and Digital Media Departments, offering two minors: a photography minor and a film and new media minor.
Within these minors, students may choose to pursue coursework which emphasizes the discipline of photography (darkroom or digital or both), the discipline of film (film production and screenwriting), the discipline of new media (video art, sound art, light, computational and interactive art, and other new media and time-based forms) or a combination of film and new media classes.
In the courses, students delve deeper into lens-based art production, work with established practices of visual storytelling, and explore expanding digital technology. The film and new media minor also has supplementary classes in computer science.
