The Center for Student Success helps students, faculty, and staff address issues that students face every day. The Center for Student Success includes the First Year Advisors, who assist students with course schedules, class registration, tutoring, choosing a major, fulfilling graduation requirements, and more.
A Resource for Students
Maybe you need help with your classes, or extra help for an assignment or test. Maybe you’re confused about which major to choose. The Center for Student Success will direct you to the academic support you need.
Maybe your friend, teammate, or sorority member isn’t doing well, and you need someone to reach out to him or her. The Center for Student Success can also provide direction, support, and a place where students can find comfort when they need it most.
First Year Advisors serve as academic advisors for all first-time freshmen and transfer students during their first year at Carthage. Advisors provide a foundation for new students’ academic experience through a course titled College Success Seminar, and provide students with significant assistance and support throughout their first year.
While much of the work done by the Center for Student Success focuses on first-year students’ success and retention, the team is significantly involved in supporting all students throughout their time at Carthage.
A Resource for Faculty and Staff
For Carthage staff and faculty, the Center for Student Success provides a convenient and easy email or phone line to call when you are concerned about a student in your class; a student who works for you or plays on your team; or you just happen to talk to one day at Einstein’s.
The Center for Student Success strives to build a successful foundation for all students, so they achieve success in the classroom and beyond.
