How to Apply
An audition is required for admittance into the theatre program, and for scholarship consideration. All students are asked to first submit an application to the Office of Admissions before scheduling an audition. In-person auditions are held on scheduled audition dates before a panel of two or more theatre faculty members. Auditions are held every February.
Students unable to attend the scheduled audition dates may contact the Fine Arts Office to discuss the possibility of an alternative audition date: finearts@carthage.edu or 262-551-5859.
How to Schedule Your Audition
To apply for a scholarship, students will sign up for an audition when the application form is available. A confirmation email listing the audition date, time, and other pertinent details will be sent once the application form is received and processed. Students should add finearts@carthage.edu to their contacts to ensure they receive all the information.

About the Scholarship
Scholarships range from $2,500-$10,000 per year and are renewable based on maintaining satisfactory academic progress and completing 50 hours of theatre service work each semester for six semesters.
Students are nominated for theatre scholarships by members of our theatre faculty upon completion of the audition and interview process. Students will receive notification regarding their theatre scholarship status in mid-to-late March from the Theatre Department directly.
Additional Carthage Scholarships
Theatre scholarships complement most other merit-based scholarships up to full tuition value. Total Carthage scholarship awards do not exceed full tuition. See more Carthage scholarships.
What about music theatre or dance?
Students who wish to audition for a Dance, Music, or Music Theatre Scholarship need to schedule separate auditions. Application forms can be found on the respective webpages. If you have any questions, please contact the Fine Arts Office 1-800-351-4058, ext. 5859 (262-551-5859) or email finearts@carthage.edu.
