Carthage will hold the ninth annual Celebration of Scholars on Friday, April 26, 2019, during Spring Family Weekend. All students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and members of the community are invited to this celebration of student research, scholarship, and creativity.
The 2019 Celebration of Scholars will include a poster exhibition, department recognition gatherings to honor outstanding student achievement, and an evening awards ceremony.
4-5:45 p.m., TARC Field House
Carthage students and faculty will share their exemplary scholarly and creative works. Projects may include senior theses, SURE projects, or work completed in a course or through independent research with a faculty mentor. All are invited to enjoy this opportunity to peruse posters; talk with students about what they’ve learned; and converse with professors and staff about their own work. Refreshments will be served.
Student Award Ceremony
6-7 p.m., TARC Field House
Please join students, parents, and colleagues as we honor recipients of the Students Excelling in Activities and Leadership (SEAL) awards, Western Heritage Scholarships, and Global Heritage Prize. The 2019 Distinguished Senior Award recipient will also be announced.
In addition to the Celebration of Scholars poster exhibit and award ceremony, Carthage’s academic departments gather to honor outstanding student performance in the classroom or in service capacities. These celebrations happen in April and May. See the schedule.
