Virtual Celebration of Scholars

Welcome to the 10th annual Celebration of Scholars! 
Carthage celebrates the achievements of our students, faculty, and staff during this three-day online event.
More than 70 Carthage students and faculty present their works of scholarship, research, and creativity. 
More than 85 students and several student organizations will be honored in our Alpha Chi and Student Award ceremonies.

The 2020 Celebration of Scholars Online Exhibition includes presenters’ abstracts and short recorded presentations. A Carthage log-in is required to watch the recorded presentations.

Join us as we induct our newest members of the Carthage College chapter of Alpha Chi! The virtual induction ceremony will be presented as a video, featuring Carthage President John Swallow and Senior Associate Provost David Steege.

Celebration of Scholars is an activity of the Research, Scholarship and Creativity Committee, which advocates for, and supports, student and faculty research opportunities among all departments and disciplines. Members are: John Kirk (chair), Associate Professor of Chemistry; Brent McClintock, Chair of the Economics Department and Associate Professor of Economics; Jose Montoto, Assistant Professor of Communication and Digital Media; Dennis Munk, Professor of Psychological Science and Education; James Ripley, Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Music Activities; and Jun Wang, Assistant Professor of Education. The Student Award Ceremony is organized by Elizabeth Snider, Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Student Involvement, and her colleagues in the Division of Student Affairs.
