The Geospatial Science Department utilized their small Unmanned Aerial System (sUAS or drones) on April 30 to capture footage of high water on campus. This video shows the Pike River from the red bridge, past the Hedberg Library and Augie Schmidt Field, to Alford Park Drive.

Videos such as this are one of the many applications taught in Professor Matthew Zorn’s course, GEO 1770: Small Unmanned Aerial Systems in Geospatial Science. The department is also completing a drone-based reconnaissance of the shoreline in support of the College’s efforts to obtain external funds for shoreline restoration.
