Physical Therapist Assistant

Amanda (Kutis) Everts ’10 is a Physical Therapist Assistant for Springfield Regional Hospital and Paragon Rehab. Working directly with athletes, she enables people to rejoin the sports they competed in. She also provides therapy for residents at a nursing home. 

“I enjoy working with athletes and getting them back to their sport. I also enjoy working with elderly people who have had medical complications and being able to get them back to their normal everyday life.”

How did Carthage prepare you?

“Carthage helped prepare me for my career by allowing me to work with athletes and be able to show compassion for those that have been hindered by injuries and other medical conditions”

How has your liberal arts education benefitted you?

“Carthage has helped me by providing hands-on learning and communication with athletes. In my profession, it is important to be able to communicate with people and relate with them, as well as provide them with the best therapy interventions.”

What's your favorite Carthage memory?

“Some of my favorite memories are traveling with the sports teams and hanging out in dorms with my friends.”

Tips for current Carthage students?

“Be outgoing and get out of your comfort zone once in awhile. Do not be afraid to ask questions and ask for help to get to where you want to go.”
